Don't Fight It

“You are a sellout.”

That’s right reader, I’m calling you a sellout. I am accusing you of compromising your integrity, morality, or principles in exchange for personal gain, such as money, popularity or fame, or “Selling Out” on a daily basis.

Don’t fight it. Let go. Stop wasting all your energy proving you’re NOT something and start opening yourself up to more possibility and opportunity by not giving a fuck. I’m not here to try to convince you that you’re worse than you think you are. You definitely are, but I’m not here to try to convince you of it. So what am I here for then?

#1 - If you read the statement “You are a sellout” and felt something negative that makes you certain I must be wrong (or mean) because you don’t ever sellout and I don’t know you - leave this website immediately. **TRIGGER WARNING**

#2 - But, if you read the statement “You are a sellout” and felt something negative, but are still curious as to what exactly that could mean, and didn’t fault the author for suggesting it - this website’s content has been created specifically for you and your benefit.

#SELLOUT is tailored to independent artists, because that’s what I am, but it is for anyone who feels that the way people and things choose to present themselves to the world is not the complete story. You are not sure what is true and false, but there is a nagging doubt to how reality is explained by others. If this is too abstract just use “The Matrix” as shorthand to understanding my point, which is: the world isn’t what you believe it is.

It can’t be. How do you suppose you know what something as big as the world IS? It is what it is, and then separately you/I/we believe it is something. Thinking we understand objective reality better than anyone else is the peak of arrogance. Not only is it making yourself superior based on intangible psychological assumptions, you are denying your target their knowledge of reality through experience that you yourself use to judge them.

You’ve probably read this kind of thing before in the form of a (mis)quoted philosopher on an Instagram post, that whatever we think of “the world” is more of a reflection of ourselves than the actual world, but the messenger (in this case, wisdom in the form of self-promotion/marketing on social media) never diminishes the potential truth in the content. To rationalize using a source’s low-hanging faults and flaws as a reason to ignore the

entirety of its content, because some part of it makes us uncomfortable, is one of many ways we shut out possibility, and in turn opportunity, from our personal worlds.

#SELLOUT is Anti-Judgement, Anti-Blame and Anti-Denial.

#SELLOUT is not right or wrong / good or bad - It is whatever you make it.

#SELLOUT exists solely to create more possibility and opportunity.*

*If you insist otherwise, re-read point #2 above and follow it’s instructions of leaving this website because whatever you are feeling is only going to get worse…
