Look, being an artist is hard, but trying to make a living as an artist is almost impossible*(1% chance of supporting yourself as a full-time, bill-paying artist for more than 1.5yrs).

Don’t be daunted by how many there are. The steps continue to be added as I continue and just as you continue on your art life. Just be glad someone is archiving all the steps it really takes to make it as an artist for all the aspiring and starving artists like you.

Instead of just encouraging you to hone your craft or pushing business basic training on you, which are currently the only two forms of independent artist support available.

Let’s be real, the only way to improve your art is by doing it, and you’ve got that covered. And if you wanted to learn about business you wouldn’t be an artist. So, what is an unrepresented, independent, penniless, starving artist supposed to do???
